Abstract

This paper aims to investigate some of the historical antecedents that led to the regulation of work in Brazil and around the world, giving rise to the Labor Courts and the Consolidation of Labor Laws. In the eighty years since the CLT played a leading role in the management of social conflicts in the country, we reflect on its relevance in continuing to regulate work, in a context of effervescent changes.
